“Folie a Deux” is an intensely dramatic modern duet . It was first premiered at the Pittsburgh Playhouse  in 1999 as one section of a larger work called “Enigmatic Spaces”. But I restaged this duet and premiered on it’s own in February 2006 at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh.

The lighting design is by Josh Monroe and the costume design is by Michael Montgomery. The digital images were taken by Dave Garson.

The work features an original score for violin and bass written for the work and played live onstage by composer Lisa Miles. Simple everyday costumes, two matching easy chairs, and a black frame for the musicians counterpoint the deep undercurrents in this riveting  journey into a dysfunctional relationship....using the tango as a metaphor for a modern day marriage.
